Welcome to the 2427 (Biggin Hill) Squadron, Air Training Corps, Website

Biggin Hill - The Home of 'The Few'

The Past - BBMF Spitfire The Few The Future - A pair of Typhoons

Honouring the past - Maintaining 'The Strongest Link' - Training for the future

Biggin Hill is one of the most famous names to be part of the proud history of the Royal Air Force. Alongside the names of such famous aircraft as the Spitfire and Hurricane and airmen such as Douglas Bader, Biggin Hill is one of the most remembered and recognised fighter stations anywhere in the world.

The Battle Honour – Battle of Britain – fought in the skies above Biggin Hill in 1940, sits easily in the same sentence as Trafalgar for the Royal Navy and Waterloo for the British Army.

2427 Squadron, Air Training Corps is proud to be the last uniformed unit stationed at Biggin Hill and, along with St. George’s Royal Air Force Chapel of Remembrance, occupies the last remaining site to be called RAF Biggin Hill.

It is our duty, therefore, to ensure that we Honour the Past and those that have gone before, Maintain ‘The Strongest Link’ created by those airmen in 1940 and Train for the Future to meet the challenges ahead.

In this spirit we would direct you to the Red 3 link in the menu to see what one former Biggin Hill Air Cadet is doing now. The sky, as they say, is the limit! Click on the link for the latest news from the Red Arrows.

We also send heartfelt congratulations to the Royal Air Force on the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of its formation on 1 April 1918.

This website is designed to allow every visitor an insight into what 2427 Squadron and the Air Training Corps is all about and to show how the squadron fulfils the aims set for it. Please take a look around and, whether you are a potential cadet or member of adult staff or just an interested visitor, hopefully you will find something of interest to you.
